I'm very excited that my amazing mother is coming up to Logan this weekend to visit us children of hers. :) But as I said in the last post that if people commented on the blog that I would tell a funny story in the next post I do. So here it is.
So when my mom comes up to Logan she will be staying at the University Inn on campus here. The last time she stayed there was back in January and I was there with her. We were busy that first day just doing stuff and talking with family that we got into the hotel quite late. We were pretty tired so we just fell asleep. The next morning I was going to take a shower because I was so tired the night before. Now just so you know, I've made it blog appropriate. :) It's quite a hilarious story and we'll try to make it as if you were there.
I was taking a shower and I was just about to finish my shower but I needed my razor to shave my legs. But I left my razor on the counter in the bathroom. So what I did was I stepped out of the shower to go get it. I was stepping back into the shower when I slipped and fell into the tub. It took me a moment to realize what was going on but when I did, I started laughing :) here's my mothers point of view from this.
She was getting ready for the day and packing up her stuff when she heard this big crash. At first she thought it was the maids outside and that the cart tipped over or something so she was like "what is going on?" then she heard me laughing in the bathroom and put two and two together. :) she opened the door a crack and was asking me if I was okay and I just kept laughing. :) we both started laughing and I told her I was alright. Got up and finished my shower. Needless to say, I was sore for the next couple days. My mother and I tend to have lots of moments like that where we laugh so hard that we're crying. I love those memories I've had with her. LOVE YOU MOMMY!!! :)

Hello? Anyone Out There?
Okay People! I'm apologize for neglecting my blog for over a year. Sad huh? But it just goes to show that people get busy with life. So I'm going to update you on what's been going on the past year. I'm going to try to do them in order but it might be out of order.
So last fall a family in my home ward gave me a job as manager at a local pizza place they were running called Jamo's Pizza. I was manager there and also working part time at McDonald's on the side. I'm not gonna lie, I felt like all I did was work and sleep...literally! I would work at McDonald's from 5am-9am and then depending on what my other schedule was I would either work from 10:30am-4pm or 4pm to close which would be 9 or 10pm. It was definitely something that I've never done before but the paychecks were awesome! With the money that I saved up, I got to buy a car. :) I only worked that job from October-June because the company went out of business. So from then on I worked at McDonald's full time.
Before I talk about the car, I wanted to tell you all that I was considering to go on an LDS mission. I prayed and did everything that I could to get answers on whether I should go or not. I got my answer that I should stay here and continue with life. That's where the car comes in. I was looking on KSL for a car that was somewhat new and had low miles on it. I came across this 2008 Ford Focus that was selling for $9,100 and had 29,000 miles on it. WHAT!? I kept my eye on that for sure. The only con about it was that it was in Evanston, WY. I thought about it for a few days and prayed about it (yes I prayed about a car) and I called the guy wondering if it was still on the market. We talked for a while about the condition of the car and I told him I'd call back in a few days. When I called him back, he told me lowered the price of the car because I was looking at it. He lowered it to $8,800. I was sold! I got all the stuff done for the car and drove up to get it and sign some papers. He was a very nice man and it's the perfect car for me. :)
In January of this year, My mom and I went up to Logan to go visit family up there. We had dinner at Texas Roadhouse and spent time talking and playing games on the Wii. Mom and I stayed at the University Inn on campus. For those of you who are reading this, if you want me to tell you a HILARIOUS story about our stay at the University Inn please comment and I will post another blog about the whole story in details! The next morning Danny and Vanessa gave us a tour of campus. While I was listening to them, a thought came to my head that I should go back to school but to go up to USU. I told mom about it on our way home that day and within the week I applied and a month later I got accepted! I looked at housing and found the place where I wanted to live and started paying for the housing for the fall/spring.
Can you believe that I'm 21 already? It's crazy that time flies when you are busy with stuff.
Over the summer, and ever since I graduated from Snow College, My mother and I have become closer. I can tell her anything and we had daily visits about our day together. I love my mom so much and I can't wait til she's up here in Logan next weekend! Anyway, over the summer my mom and I went on a road trip in my little Focus to Canada to visit my Aunt and Uncle along with their family up there. While Utah was experiencing 90+ degrees, Canada was experiencing mid 70's and it was fantastic. I brought a jacket and probably used it once the entire week we were there. We also got to try some Canadian food like Poutine. We went to Calgary for 2 days to shop and visit my cousins up there. We had so many fun moments up there that I will never forget. While I was there, I worked on some projects like an iPad cover and some placemats for my apartment here in Logan. By the end of the week, mom and I were pretty worn out so we headed back home. It was very fun trip, just the two of us and hopefully it won't be 6 years before I go back to Canada again.
August arrived and that meant I moved up to Logan. I moved up here August 21st and I don't think it really hit me that I was back to college at a bigger campus than Snow until my first day of school. I was so surprised at how many people there are attending USU. I think the last number of students here I heard was 18,000 students. So I have 5 roommates. I didn't know any of them until I moved in. There's Ragen, Megan, Zoey, Shanelle and Carson. My room roommate is Carson. She's in the ROTC here and her major is Horticulture. She is so fun to talk to and I love her as my roommate. There's Ragen and Shanelle who are hilarious! Ragen is an Education major so she (and her cousin who lives next door) will be helping me get into the Education Program here. Shanelle transferred from BYU and is amazing at the piano. Her major is Music. Then there is Zoey and Megan. Zoey is from Alaska and is doing pre-phramacy here. She wants to go to U of U to finish her education (Ethan!). Megan is just awesome. Her major is something with athletics (I'm sorry but she's told me twice and I've forgotten) but she's very athletic and loves to have fun with lots of friends. It's been a month since I've moved in and I feel that this year is going to be an amazing year. My classes are interesting. I'm taking 13 credits this semester. The classes I'm taking are Family Finance, Food Technology, Nutrition 1020, Arts Symposium and Special Education. My major is Early Childhood Education with an Emphasis in Nutrition (hence the nutrition classes). I found out this week that I will be taking a leave of absence next semester due to some tests I have to take. To apply into the Education program, I have to have a series of tests done and into my advisor by either Oct 1, Mar 1, or July 1. So I will just be working next semester and taking tests to pass to get into the Education program for the fall next year. In the meantime, I'll be living here in Logan til I am done with my program. I think I'm going to stay here in the apartments I'm living in. It's nice here. I live by the stadium and the spectrum. There are 3 buses within a quarter mile of my apartment that takes me on campus so it's nice.
Wow! This post is long! I guess this is what I get for not posting for a year. I'm sorry again and I will try my best to post more often. I should be having more time to post so we'll see how it goes. Love you all!

Unexpected gifts in life

So this past week has been AMAZING! Let me explain first...
Lately in my life I've just had a lot of moments by myself or with my family which I love and I believe that everyone should have those moments in life. I've missed having a very good friend in my life. I felt like sometimes I can't call a friend when I'm feeling down or something like that. Well I've been wanting someone to come into my life and become involved as a friend.
This week changed things....a lot. :)
I only thought that this person would just say hi to me once a week but I totally thought wrong. One night of talking can make a whole difference for a persons life. I guess it was something that I was looking for. I found out that this person is an amazing, awesome, and wonderful person. We both have quite a bit in common and it makes me become more open with this person. It's definitely been a while since I've been this open with a guy. I know you probably hear that a lot from me but this one is definitely different. :) It definitely makes me think about what I want in life at the moment.

Sometimes I Procrastinate
So yeah I'm sorry it's been a while....a long while since I last updated my blog! I'll try to be better at it! Okay, so here's whats been going on since my last update.
-To get this over with, work has been the same as usual. Nothing to grand going on there. Just working a lot. We did get new food items at McDonald's and it's the Caramel Apple Parfait and the Caramel Apple Sundae. I'm not too big on the parfait just because I don't like them but the Caramel Apple Sundae.....YUM!!! If you ever go, get one :) it's so wonderful...it's like christmas in a bowl.
-Also at work, I've been learning some espanol! Ole! :) haha it's been fun. My co-worker Jose has been teaching me what to say in certain situations at work and how to greet people. I'm also learning the different foods in spanish as well.
-About 2 weeks ago, my friend Summer asked me if I could go with her to Texas to help move her daughters down to her sisters. She didn't want to be the only one driving alone and so I went with her. We went through Montecello to the Four Corners to Colorado then down to Albequerque to Lubbock,TX then to Harker Heights, TX where we dropped the girls off. Then we turned right around and went back home. We started our trip on Friday at 3:30pm and didn't get back home til Monday at 8:30pm. Total miles was about 2600 miles. It was quite the trip but it was a lot of fun. We had a dog with us named George who was actually really good during the trip, we thought he was going to be sick. On our way back we went through Moab and saw the beautiful red rocks. :) I brought home some glass thimbles for my mom from each state that I was in. She has them in her sewing room.
-So this past weekend, we had a birthday bash where we celebrated all the September birthdays. Stuart was playing in Salt Lake opening for Jason Derulo. He was in his awesome band Profetik. They have some pretty good music! Then on Monday we went to the Living Planet Aquarium in Sandy where we saw all the different animals that live in water...some weren't like spiders....totally not supposed to be there haha. But then we went to the Pi and ate yummy Pizza. We had cake and ice cream and trifle. Good day overall.
-So now I'm just living life to the best that I possibly can. Working a lot and spending a lot of time with my family. My mom and I have become very close. Her and I will do lots of things together like shopping, watching movies and TV shows. We've been into a lot of TV shows lately. Friday Night Lights ended a while back and then Rookie Blue just ended (sad face!) for the season though. it'll be back....next spring... anyway, we're going to get into the TV Shows Whitney and the The Sing-Off. I heard that Vocal Point or Voice Male (one of the two) are going to be on the show so look out for them! :)
-It's crazy because a lot of my friends are on missions. I have 2 of my girl friends that got their calls and are leaving in the next month or two. Jami is going to New Zealand and Kaitlyn is going to Arizona! woot! It's got me thinking a lot about a mission and I've been going on splits with the sister missionaries. I have about 10 of my good friends that are out on missions and some of them will be home before I leave...yeah I'm gonna go on a mission. I decided to go a while ago and everything that talks about a mission....the spirit just hits me so strong and I start getting emotional....yeah I'm going. :) I figured out that I can turn in my mission papers in January and then get my call around March-ish. That's my plan right now. It could change....I'm just leaving it up to the Lord.

Life in the fast lane!
It's crazy but this Summer has come and gone in the blink of an eye. It's been such a quick summer that I feel like I missed out on so many things! Here are some things that have happened recently that I have done.
I got an iPad 2! :) I love it so much! It's so fun and you can do so many things with it! Here are some pictures I took!

Yesterday I went to Marcus's 1st Birthday Party! It was Cookie Monster themed and it was adorable! It was good to see family there and to see Marcus get all messy with his birthday cake.
I've been helping my mom with her primary class whenever I'm home from school or whatnot and in the class there are 6 girls and 1 boy. That one boy is named Deryck. So yesterday, in sharing time, we were talking about being clean and pure so we can go to the Temple and there were different things you should do and one of them was to not swear or use naughty words. Deryck automatically said "Like Dammit?" Oh boy....We were all laughing! I was telling him that it wasn't a good word and that he shouldn't say it anymore. haha kids....
So my friend/co worker Sara had her baby this past week and so Gretta and I went to the hospital to go visit her! :) Her name is Dannifer Ann Marie Taylor Durquette. Wow! What a name! but Beautiful! I got to hold her for a little while and she's so tiny! She was born 5 pounds 5 ounces.
I'm also trying to redecorate my room. It's hard getting the motivation and the time to do it but It's always on my mind so hopefully I'll get it done soon.
Other than the things above and working, that's about all I'm doing. My life is pretty boring. No dating life...

Dear Mr. Potter

So I'm a huge fan of Harry Potter. I saw all the movies and read 95% of the books (don't ask). It's crazy how it's all coming to an end in 2 ish days. My awesome cousin Jessica and I are going to a midnight showing of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 on Thursday Night in Salt Lake. I'm so stoked to see it! I think it'll be really good! It's very strange that one of my favorite childhood series is going to end, movie wise. It all started so long ago and now it's gone by so fast. I will definitely give you guys a review on the movie for all you followers out there. I'll also be doing another post about a new toy I'll be getting in the next few days. All is well with me. Just busy with work. :) Love you all
