Color Festival and Stake Talent Show

So a lot happened this weekend. I don't even know where to begin!

On Saturday was the Hindu Color Festival in Spanish Fork. My friend Janessa would get extra credit in one of her classes if she went to the festival but we mostly went for fun. There was 4 of us that went. There was me, Janessa, Kaitlyn and Sam. When we got there, it was so crowded! We put sheets over the seats of my friends car, just to make sure that we didn't get her car dirty. We then headed for the chalk. We got 3 packets of chalk which actually go a long way. They look like there isn't much in the bag but once you open it, theres a lot in there. So we walked around and looked at different shops and while we were walking around, people would randomly throw chalk on us. The throwing of the colors didn't actually start til about 1pm and we were there at about 12:30pm. We stood in a spot just talking and it became more and more crowded around us. The closer it got to 1, the more chalk was thrown. Once they counted down the throwing the chalk, the atmosphere around us became very dark and loud. We couldn't see the sun at all. Pink clouds of chalk were everywhere! It hurt when you inhaled it through your nose and it burned your eyes if you looked around. Once the chalk clouds died down, we started taking pictures. It was so much fun to see the 'before' and 'after' pictures. We then did some modeling by the Holi Krishna Temple that was there. We wanted to go inside but we had to be somewhat cleaned off so this lady took a leaf blower to us all and clouds of chalk came up again. It was so awesome to see how much chalk left my body and how much stayed on. Inside the temple was beautiful! Everything was polished and clean and gorgeous. We stayed in there for a little while and then just chilled around. People were completely covered from head to toe there.

On Monday was the Stake Talent Show. It was at the institute. I was so nervous but I think once I got up on the stage, I was fine. I danced and lip synced my little heart out. People laughed a lot which made me very happy. I did the "Snowman" gig but I had to cut it in half so I did the first half of my whole performance. Everyone loved it which made me very very very happy :) I then did homework galore! Janessa had a ton of homework to do as well. I thought I wasn't going to stay up very later....yeah....I was wrong about that. I worked on my history paper thats due today and I didn't get to bed til about 5 this morning. I'm running on about 4 hours of sleep today. I am SO tired. But the paper is finished and I think it's good. I am going to dinner with a friend tonight. His name is Casey. We're going to the Snow Dragon. I love that place! Coconut Chicken all the way! :) Well thats all for now I guess. I registered for school for fall semester. I'm taking 16 credits. Half of the classes are fun classes. I think Mom, Grandma, Aunt Kaye, Aunt Gayle and Tresa would be very happy for me to say that I am taking a sewing class in the fall :)

Spring Break and Talent Show

My spring break was awesome. I came home and I went job hunting. I also went shopping during the week. I got a new jacket and some weights and a work out dvd. I also got New Moon on DVD. Oh my gosh! I went to Walmart to get it with my friend Sydney. All we pretty much did was sit in a line until midnight. We saw the obsessive fans there. teeth marks on the neck, white faces and all! I've started this work out video. It's Jillian Michaels. She's a tough cookie. I started trying it on the Saturday before I went back to school and I was sweating so bad! Good for me though! haha I think it'll really help me. I also have my friends Janessa, Lacey, and Sam working out with me which helps me a lot! I love them so much for helping me with this.

Eating right is going great. I am automatically eating fruits and veggies instead of junk food. I am really happy with eating this way. So far, I've lost 10 pounds! YES! When I saw the scale I screamed for joy! I am progressing so much!

School is going good. We've past mid-terms and it's getting closer and closer to Finals. I am very excited to be done with school but at the same time not. I'm excited to leave cause then I get to help Vanessa out with her wedding and I also get to see Paramore and Relient K in concert on May 10th with Victoria and Lacey. I am nervous for finals. I think if I just study hard and memorize as much as I can, I can do it. Classes are going good. Just going to class and thats about it. Oh and I have a date tomorrow night :) kinda excited!

We had our ward talent show last night and I participated in it. I decided to do the Snowman songs that Inside Out does. I did it for my ward and they LAUGHED and LAUGHED! I'm so happy that they enjoyed my performance. I did the best that I could. There is a stake talent show thats going to be this coming up Monday. My bishop called me today and said that I am going to the stake talent show! I am so excited! The only sad part about going to the stake talent show is that I have to cut my song in half. It's okay though. It'll be amazing! I hope I will do my best and not be nervous or shaky or anything like that. haha I will definitely tell you how it goes on Monday.

Zenobia's fiance is still in a coma. She's having a tough time with it all. I've been praying for her and I really hope that she and Sebastian will be okay. Alaina and Sheri are doing great as always. It's so weird to think that they won't be my roommates anymore in about a month and a half. I am going to try to spend as much time as I can with them before the semester is over.

Snow? Seriously?

So lately we've had quite a bit of snow. Last week we got 6 inches of snow within a few hours. I really wanted to go running that night but it snowed so I couldn't. I wanted to go running last night and guess what? it started to snow! Why is it that I want to go running, it starts snowing?

School is going good. I only had one midterm this semester which was Mass Media. I don't think it was too hard. It just covered everything that we learned so far this semester. I actually will get go find out in about half an hour what I got on my midterm. Kinda nervous but I think I'll be fine.

Spring break is coming! I am so excited. I plan on visiting my friends at my old high school. I also am going to visit my 2nd graders (who are now 3rd graders) I am so excited to see them again. The last time I saw them was Thanksgiving which is way too long! I am also going to watch a movie this next week. I think I want to go see Alice in Wonderland. It's actually an assignment. I have to go see a movie and talk about the experience for my Mass Media class. How cool huh? If there are any movies that you've seen that you reccommend, let me know.

I am actually doing an awesome job at eating healthy lately. I've been reading labels and snacking on healthier foods. My friends and roommates have been helping me a lot with not eating sweets/chocolate. Instead of snacking on chocolate I'm eating apples and pretzels. I actually made an amazing meal last night. It was really easy and SO good. I have chicken quesadillas. I have whole wheat tortillas and I boiled chicken and cut them into little chunks. I put some colby jack cheese on the bottom, put the chicken on, put more cheese on then the tortilla on top. I would put it in the mircowave for about 30 seconds to a minute. I also realized that drinking a lot of water or milk is really good for you. No soda. I haven't had soda for about 2 weeks now. I've gone longer without soda but I really didn't think I could go that long without it. I got an e-mail back from Diana (roundlady) and she said that she's willing to help me. She wants me to e-mail her back what I've been eating for a week and my exercise for a week. I've actually been pretty horrible at exercising lately. I guess walking around campus is my exercise. I'm going to be better next week though. I'm going to be home and I'll have a lot of free time on my hands where I can run and cook good foods and exercise.

I am very excited to go home. Even though I'll be going home a lot this semester, I'll still be very happy and relaxed when I'm home with my parents and siblings. I have friend down here that goes home just about every weekend because she gets so homesick. I feel bad for her but I totally know how she feels about being homesick. I'm not that bad. I do miss my parents a lot. I also want to work on a project. I don't know what that'll be yet but if you have any ideas, let me know.

My roommates are good. Sheri has been crazy busy with art. She gets to display her art at the AltSpace here at Snow. It's so awesome. I'll be sure to get pictures and post them up here soon. She's been busy with midterms too and tons of art and drawing and welding. Alaina is doing good. She is back and forth from being home. She's going to be here for a while I think. I actually think she'll be here for spring break next week. Sad huh? Zenobia is doing okay right now. She's going to Spain over spring break because her fiance got in a car accident monday morning (their time) and it was a head on collision with drunk drivers. He's currently in a coma and is needing brain and back surgery. She is such a strong woman. She has so much faith in the Lord of whatever will happen will happen for a reason. So I don't know if she'll be coming back to Snow after spring break. It just depends on her situation with him. Please keep them both in your prayers. His name is Sebastian.

March

It is so weird to see that March is already here. Time is flying by. February went by really fast. But then again, it's the shortest month out all 12 months.

This week went by pretty good. It was slow at first. Once your busy with homework and other stuff, the week flies by.

So on Tuesday this week, I was on Youtube looking at videos for healthy, cheap recipes and I came across this lady named Diana. She has a blog www.roundorama.com and she does all these videos about eating healthy and exercising. I instantly got hooked. That night I had to go shopping for food cause I was getting low on food. I started buying all these fruits and vegetables and whole grain stuff. All my friends were so curious as to why I'm buying all this healthy stuff and I told them the reasons. I have been making my own meals this week and they have been very healthy. I made dinner on Wednesday night and I made brown rice and then cooked some vegetables like cauliflower, brocoli, carrots and grilled som chicken and had it over the rice. Oh my good gravy! It was so good. I loved it. I didn't use any butter or anything like that so it was healthy and everything! Then last night I had a baked potato with a litte grated cheese on top with a side of veggies again. It was delicious. I am becoming so much more open to different fruits and vegetables that I haven't liked in the past. This week has been so awesome. I've been lowering the sweets a lot. My roommate Sheri bought some Oreo's last night and she was eating a few and she looked at me and she said "You don't want these disgusting chocolate frosting stuff! No you don't!" She has been helping me so much this week with not eating as many sweets. Whenever I'd see some chocolate or candy she'd say "You don't want that! It's bad for you!" I'd say "No" and walk away. I love Sheri! She's so funny and awesome!

Alaina has been gone this week cause she has clinicals in Payson. She lives in Orem which is closer to Payson then Ephraim so she's living at home this week. She'll be back here in a few days.

Yesterday I was so excited for spring. In the morning, it was so nice and beautiful! I go to History class at 1:30. I look out the window at 2ish and it's snowing. I check the window a few minutes later and it's a blizzard outside! It was like that til about 4:30ish. We got 5 inches of snow on the ground in just 2 and a half hours! I wanted to go running and stuff last night....NO! it got ruined! (Jarom is going to get mad) It's March and it's still snowing! It needs to disappear til next fall.
